ASIA LinkedIn [email protected] Professor and Head, Department of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, Chief of Hospital Service Unit, Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology 20-30 years Nepal AFFILIATIONS AND EXPERIENCE CONTACT I earned my MD in Ophthalmology from Nepal in 2004, followed by a fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus at the Storm Eye Institute, MUSC, USA in 2006. In April 2025, I completed a PhD in Global Health and Low Vision from the Amsterdam Public Health Institute, Vrije University, Amsterdam. Over the past 20 years, I have trained both national and international ophthalmology residents and pediatric ophthalmology fellows, while actively contributing to outreach programs in Nepal, China, Ghana, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Eritrea, and Cambodia. My academic contributions include more than 50 peer-reviewed journal articles, a book, book chapters, and training manuals. I am honored to have received multiple awards, including the Ratna Award from the Nepal Government, APAO Developing Nation Travel Award (2011), Millers International Travel Award (2015), Bernadotte’s Children Vision Award (2016), AAPOS-CEF Research Award (2018), and Heroes of Orbis recognition (2023). I am the immediate past president of the Nepal Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Society and an international member of AAPOS.
