She earned her MBBS and MS in Ophthalmology from J.N. Medical College, Aligarh, India, and completed a fellowship in Cornea and Anterior Segment at L.V. Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad, where she also served as Adjunct Faculty. Currently, Dr. Tomar is Professor and Cornea Unit In-Charge at the Department of Ophthalmology, National Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) University, Jaipur. She is also Director and Consultant for Cornea and Anterior Segment Services at SwaNetra Eye Hospital, Jaipur, and serves as Medical Director of the Eye Bank Society of Rajasthan. Her leadership roles include being a member of the Corneal Surgeon Task Force at SightLife (Seattle, USA), State Representative for the Women Ophthalmologists Society (WOS) in India, and Lead for the Asia- Pacific Region and Joint Secretary of Women Ophthalmologists Worldwide (WOW). She is also Principal Investigator for the WOS-B Scheme under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, and serves as a National Examiner for MS and DNB programs. Dr. Tomar has a special interest in corneal transplantation, allergic eye diseases, and keratoconus, and has published and presented extensively in India and internationally. Outside of her professional work, she is a proud mother of two and enjoys traveling.
