She earned her Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from Imo State University, graduating as the best student in her class, and holds a Master of Science in Public Health from the University of Lagos. She completed a Fellowship in Clinical Optometry at the LV Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad, India, through the Commonwealth Eye Health Consortium, and is a Fellow of the Nigerian Postgraduate College of Optometry, the American Academy of Optometry, and the Nigerian Army Resource Centre. Dr. Edemeraro serves as Programme Coordinator for the Bridge of Sight Foundation, which received the 2021 Novartis eXcellence in Ophthalmology Vision Award (XOVA) for improving access to low vision services for school-aged children with oculocutaneous albinism in Nigeria. She has received multiple national and international awards, presented at global conferences, and actively mentors eye care professionals and students. Dr. Edemeraro is a Board member of the International Society for Low Vision Research and Rehabilitation (ISLRR). She served on the national committee that developed Nigeria’s Treatment Guidelines and Performance Standards for the provision of child eye health services. Her clinical and research interests include posterior segment diseases, patient-reported outcomes in utilization of low vision services, and improving quality of life for individuals with visual impairment.
