With over 40 years of executive experience in the nonprofit sector, Carolyn is nationally recognized for her expertise in philanthropy, nonprofit management, strategic planning, and advocacy. She became the first Executive Director of Advanced Center for Eyecare Global in May 2022. In this role, she is dedicated to strengthening philanthropic support and guiding ACE Global’s board as they work to eliminate preventable blindness in low‑ and middle‑income countries. Her leadership focuses on developing sustainable, locally led eye‑care systems by training, teaching, and equipping ophthalmologists in their own communities. Before joining ACE Global, Carolyn served as CEO of a private foundation committed to equity, inclusion, collaboration, and systems transformation. During the COVID‑19 pandemic, she played a key role in mentoring nonprofits on emergency assistance funding and responding to rapidly evolving community needs. She has also held positions as Director of Development, Director of Planned Giving, and President and CEO of several Florida nonprofits, in addition to running her own strategic planning and development consulting firm. Carolyn holds a Master’s in Public Administration from American University in Washington, DC. Outside of her professional work, she is a national advocate, speaker, survivor, writer, and champion for breast cancer patients, having supported more than 1000 women and their families over the past 20 years.
